Tatertot Casserole

Updated: Sep 13, 2020

Normal Tatertot Casserole

1. Half yellow onion

2. Ground beef or turkey for a more lean choice

3. 1 can of cream of mushroom

4. 3 large tablespoons of sour cream

5. One bag of tater-tots if making for more than one person. Half a bag if making for one person.

6. Shredded cheese

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Make sure you have a clean sink to put the dirty dishes in. Next, get a Pyrex glass pan-long if for a family and small if for just one person- and grease the bottom and sides so the tots don't stick. In a small pot or pan, caramelize the onions then brown the beef/turkey.

Put the cream of mushroom in, the sour cream, and half of the tots. Mix it all together then smooth it out so it cooks evenly. Shake the rest of the tater-tots out on top and distribute them evenly.

Put in the oven and cook until the taters are golden brown. Sprinkle cheddar cheese over the top until it melts.

Bon appetite as Julia Child would say.

Dairy Free Tater-tot Casserole

1. Ground turkey

2. Half yellow onion

3. Daiya shredded cheese

4. Cream of mushroom soup homemade (This one I got from a book called Go Dairy Free by Alisa Marie Fleming)

5. 4 large tablespoons of dairy-free sour cream. I personally like to use Tofutti but this time around I'm using the other one.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease a small Pyrex pan with Crisco. Cook the cream of mushroom first because it takes longer. https://www.godairyfree.org/recipes/dairy-free-condensed-cream-of-mushroom-soup-2

Dice the onion.

Brown the turkey then add the onion.

Dump it in the glass pan, mix the rest of the ingredients together and smooth it out so it's even.

And put it in the oven until golden brown. Add the cheese until it is melted.

Enjoy! 😁
