What if Tiana made a deal that changed everything?

Tiana took the Shadow Man's deal and now she has her daddy back, her restaurant in Treme, and happiness. Except, the terms of the deal were Naveen to forget he spent time with Tiana and that she should stay away from him. But when weird things start happening in New Orleans, fog, algae creeping up on the water to the streets, and strange insects, Tiana must travel once again through the Bayou and seek out Mama Odie's help.

Disney Hyperion was smart to publish these twisted tales. This book made me so hungry though! My mouth practically watered at the descriptions of gumbo! 🤤

The hook had me intrigued, I could hear Tiana's voice clearly, the chapters were evenly paced, and the descriptions painted a clear picture for me. Told in 3rd POV with multiple perspectives, the author chose each word with care making sure the reader could never leave the world she crafted. I also applaud Farrah for addressing racism in New Orleans with the character Lottie which was one thing that weirded me out in the movie. But she went into depth about this character and how she was clueless about racism which was most people back in 1920's to this very day. It needed to be spoken about and Farrah did it in such a way that made my heart break for both Tiana and Lottie.
