Magic has returned to Orisha. The war to survive continues.
Zelie, along with her brother Tzain, and princess Amari, sacrificed everything to ensure maji have their ashe back. However, the ritual went wrong. Titans, once former humans, have an unyielding power that dominates even maji. To make matters worse, Queen Nehanda has developed an unearthly magic to rival Zelie's Reaper ashe. Amari tries to unify Orisha and take back the throne, but her mother is hell bent on making sure everyone turns against her. Now, Zelie and her companions must battle to ensure the maji win this war once and for all.
Tomi has done it again! An epic sweep of magic that had me clinging to every word! I didn't want it to end. It kept me up at night reading. Her pace is excellent, and her character development makes me wonder how long she has written these characters. They were well thought out. Her editor is amazing. And the storyline itself... I wanted to be a part of it. Zelie is the hero we all needed. Amari is strength incarnate. And Mama Agba is the elder we can all look up to regardless of race. I admire Tomi for writing something so moving it could start a revolution. She is a modern-day ambassador for peace and love. I especially loved how she wove God throughout her book and the faith that Zelie carries with her.
For my Christian readers, I rate this book PG-13 for bas***, a**, and sensual scenes between characters.
10/10 stars! 🌟
