Guardian of Thieves by Lichelle Slater

After the loss of her village and Abudar's capture by the Veil, Caspara is thrown back into action when her beloved dragonling Igborg is taken by Sinbad the pirate.

I think this was better than the first one. I loved Igborg and his comments. They made me laugh. I admired Lichelle's research into middle eastern lore and words which helped her create her own spells for the novel. Major respect on that front. Lichelle has a talent for weaving words into cohesive stories. And no one else could have written Caspara's journey.
