Poor Unfortunate Soul by Serena Valentino

Writer's picture: L.D. WaltersL.D. Walters

Ursula, loved by her adopted father, realizes she is Triton's long-lost sister. But the sea king doesn't take too kindly to his sibling and blames her for everything. Because of this Ursula's heart hardens. All she wanted was to be loved by her brother. The Odd Sisters instantly befriend her and encourage her to take revenge upon Triton. The rest is the Little Mermaid history.

I loved seeing Ursula's point of view! And it made a lot of sense. Before the live-action Little Mermaid confirmed Ursula as Ariel's aunt, this book made it clear that she was Triton's sister. Which made her motives make a lot more sense than before. The details in this one were amazing! I could see it, feel it, smell it, and was immersed in Serena's world a lot more than before. In my humble opinion, she knocked this one out of the park!

10/10 stars!
