On the run from the Remnant, Kaida, Tarrin, and Eldrin must elude Eklos' dragons at every village while making their way to Shegora, a safe haven for dragons shifters. Along the way, they learn that Eklos survived the collapse of Belharnt and is amassing an army to kill all of the humans in Elysia. Can they recruit enough dragons to help in their cause or will Eklos be the destruction of them all?

It feels good to be back in Elysia. To read Emily's amazing descriptions, world building, and characters. However, I felt that Eldrin's pov didn't really contribute much to the main plot. Because our heroes always knew what they had missed via telling, it felt like showing Eldrin's pov gave some surprises away. I loved Kaida's pov and wished there was more of it. But, she passed out way too often. As a writer, I get it. It's an easy way to end a chapter but having it too often can make a strong female character seem...weak. Unless she had an underlying medical condition, she really shouldn't be fainting that much. And it's been overused too. Readers want a nice transition and usually those are the hardest to write.

Great hook and plot. Chapter lengths were a bit on the short side but also nice for neurodivergent readers. Pace was good.

For my Christian readers, no swearing at all. No open door scenes or sensual moments.
