Tib and Ari are inseparable until the Well of Eida tears them apart. Two years later, Ari is a Fallen, a gladiator who must fight in thr trolls' arena to earn her pardon. She must kill four thousand Seekers, people who come to the Well to have their wish granted, or die herself.
An adventure from beginning to end. Told in first person, present tense, the author's descriptions transported me into Eida. The character development was very well thought out. Ari...I could easily see myself in her and latch onto her emotions. Grammar was good. The hook was excellent. Her chapter lengths were enough and it flowed exceptionally well. KB Benson wrote about the hard things in life. The stuff some are too afraid to admit. Abuse. Suffering. Starvation. Thirst. Survival. We need more women like her in the world. Who aren't afraid to say the hard truth and hold up a mirror to what's really going on in the world.
A woman among many who are strong. Tomi Adeyemi, Alyssa P. Kelso, K.B. Benson, Emily Schneider, Amanda Denham, Olivia Castetter, and Joanna Reeder, S.L. Vaden, and Cheree Alsopp just to name a few who have inspired me and my thinking.
