Moroi

In Romanian folklore, a Moroi is a phantom vampire. It draws energy from the living by draining the human. Like when you feel exhausted or drowsy...that would be a Moroi draining you. Hypothetically of course. They can have normal lives and eventually die but it takes a really long time. According to Richelle Mead, author of Vampire Academy (which I never read), the Morois have magical powers. They avoid too much sunlight and drink the blood of humans.

Morois can be demons, which I think is the general definition of a vampire, and they can be put under the control of a strigoi through compulsion. That hard stare vampires give to hypnotize their prey.

In conclusion, Morois remain part of Romanian culture and are still feared even today.
