Strigoi

Unlike the moroi, a strigoi is much more dangerous. In fact, Bram Stoker's Dracula is a strigoi. The strigoi has many powers such as shapeshifting, turning invisible, and of course draining the victim through the classic biting.

In Romanian mythology, there are three types of strigoi. Strigoi Viu: a living strigoi such as a wizard, a Strigoica: a witch, and a Strigoi Mort: a dead strigoi which is the most dangerous out of the three.

Strigoi rise from their graves and return to their families to torment them until they, too, die.

In conclusion, strigoi are still an important part of Romanian culture and belief. To this day, when someone dies, the burying ritual is to stake the dead in the heart to make sure they don't turn into a vampire.
