"The Princess and the Frog"
Updated: Aug 2, 2021
Premiering in 2009, this was the last Disney movie to feature traditional animation before converging into 3D animation, as well as the first to have an African American princess which was overdue for Disney. In my humble opinion, they should create similar productions.
This feature follows a woman named Tiana who dreams of opening her own restaurant in 1920's New Orleans. When the realtors tell her she was outbid, she tries to fight for it but crashes into the table instead, ruining her dress. Her friend Lottie, gives her a beautiful gown. Tiana, who is practical unlike her rich friend Lottie, secretly wishes on a star for things to work out for her restaurant when a frog hops on the balcony railing wanting a kiss.🐸
Whenever I cook, I always think of Tiana's mushroom mincing and wish I could be like her. I think Disney outdid themselves with this one. Plus, it makes me want gumbo🤤.
I do believe now more than ever we need to listen to mama Oddie "It don't matter what you look like."
